I interviewed Lucy Lawless in 1989: the sequel

The 2010 arrival of scrapbooks from days as a New Zealand newspaper hack triggered a blogpost about how I once interviewed Xena, Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless on a swing, long before she was famous. Fast forward to last week and my agent got an email, asking if I'd be willing to elucidate for a photo recall feature. And here it is, courtesy of a Lucy Lawless fansite:

I should probably explain the odd quote about having 'lucked out'. It was a nice change of pace getting to interview an attractive young woman near my age, instead of sitting in the High Court covering murder trials [and worse] - nothing more than that. Sigh.
