Congratulations to Jim Swallow, a friend of this blog, who's been nominated for his Warhammer 40K tome Faith and Fire. I didn't submit any of my books for the judges' considertion for two reasons - inertia, and I couldn't choose which one to enter out of Nikolai Dante: Honour Be Damned, Fiends of the Eastern Front: The Blood Red Army and Fiends: Twilight of the Dead. Must get my act together next year. I'll only have two tie-in novels published this year [barring something remarkable happening in the next few months], so that should make the choice easier...

Thanks for the big-up, David. As they say, it's an honour just to be nominated...

Although considerably less so when - as David reveals - you realise nominated authors put their own work forward fo consideration.
