A chance to meet TV comedy commissioners

I went to the launch of Gags to Go last night, an initiative by Channel 4 and The Comedy Unit to find new comedy for mobile phones - more on that later today. But a quick scan of the 4Talent website this morning unearthed this upcoming event...

SHOT AT TV: As part of Glasgow Comedy Festival, this 4Talent event brings together heads of comedy from Channel 4, Channel 5 and the BBC for a no-nonsense insight into getting your comedy commissioned. Aimed at small independent production companies and freelancers, this event takes you by the hand, leads you up the talent ladder, and introduces you to the comedy commissioners you need to meet.

This panel discussion is hosted by Stuart Cosgrove, Channel 4's Director of Nations & Regions. The panellists are: Jon Rolph – Editor, Comedy Commissioning, BBC; Darren Smith – Editor, Comedy, C4; Shane Allen – Commissioning Editor, Comedy, C4; and Graham Smith – Controller of Comedy, Five TV.

Shot At TV starts at 6.45pm on Wednesday March 21, at Glasgow Film Theatre. Free tickets are available from the Comedy Festival – to book, phone 0141 332 8128.
