There's an interesting interview with scribe Stephen King in the Daily Telegraph that's worth well a read. In it he mentions a line from Philip Roth's novel Everyman that neatly sums up my attitude to writing for a living - sometimes it isn't pretty, but it gets done:
Amateurs wait for inspiration,
the rest of us get up every day and go work.
If that seems a tad bleak, I recommend reading this inspiring blog entry by Maggie about finding inspiration when the well of creativity is a yawning chasm of nothing.
