Top 10 Bizarro Cover Versions
Inspired by a discussion on the 2000 AD message board, here's my Top 10 Bizarro Cover Versions for today, in no particular order. You can hear previews of them all on iTunes's UK store and, I guess, most other iTunes stores globally.
• Trust In Me (from The Jungle Book) by Siouxsie and the Banshees
• Don't Stop Moving by The Beautiful South
• Hurt by Johnny Cash
• Guns of Brixton by Nouvelle Vague
• No Surprises by The Section Quarter
• Sexual Healing by Kate Bush
• Creep by Scala
• Easy by Faith No More
• That's Entertainment by Morrissey
• Bare Necessities by Michelle Shocked
So, what's your favourite [but somewhat unlikely] cover versions?

hurt, by Cash is effing genius. You can hear the pain in his voice when he sings it.
There are a few Carter USM covers I like, including Trouble, by Shampoo, Rent, by the Pet Shop Boys, and This Is How It Feels, by Inspiral Carpets.
Carter's take on Down in the Tube Station at Midnight is another favourite. As for Rent, I heart the Liza Minelli version that turns hi energy into torch song turmoil.
I have trouble resisting music lists... again, in no particular order:
1 Giant Leap – Memories Of A Free Festival
Mike Oldfield – I Got Rhythm
Goldfrapp – U.K Girls (Phyiscal)
Kate Rogers – Bigmouth Strikes Again
t.A.T.u – How Soon Is Now?
Sting & The Chieftains – Sisters Of Mercy
Sarah McLachlan – Blue
Alicia Keys & Bono – Don't Give Up
The Divine Comedy – I've Been To A Marvellous Party
The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain – Le Freak
