Virtual Choir 4 really reminds me of Wild Horses

Above is the clip for Virtual Choir 4, where thousands of singers worldwide contribute their voices to a song composed by Eric Whitacre. It was nagging at me why this seemed so familiar, and then I remembered Wild Horses. I'm no musician so am probably imagining the similarity, wiser heads than mine can point out how these are utterly different.
