Book now for Lakes International Comic Art Festival

A stunning line-up of comics talent is converging on the Lake District this October for the first Lakes International Comic Art Festival. The Cumbrian town of Kendal is hosting the event from 18-20 October, with guests ranging from Costa Award winners Mary & Bryan Talbot to zombie artist supreme Charlie [The Walking Dead] Adlard.

The word international is not just for show. Creators coming to the festival include Jose [Sinner] Munoz and Gilbert [Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers] Shelton, alongside Ed [Criminal] Brubaker, Carlos [Judge Dredd] Ezquerra and more. I'm proud to say I'll be helping with events on Saturday 18th, while also searching for some mint cake.

The festival might be three months away, but it's well worth booking tickets early - now, in fact. Why? Because many events have limited spaces designed to give the audience better access and less time in queues - more of a literary or film festival approach, rather than the usual free-for-all scrum for seats you see at most comics conventions.

The organisers also have a big programme of free exhibitions and a free comics family zone, along with several free events. It sounds like large sections of Kendal will be involved in this exciting, innovative events. Click here for programme information and buy tickets online from the Brewery Arts Centre. I'll see you there in October...
