Google has a gorgeous frontpage animation today [Oct. 15th, 2012] to mark the 107th anniversary of Winsor McCay's comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland launching. [In case you didn't know, Little Nemo is an early, massively influential example of magic realism in graphic fiction - go find yourself a copy to read, you won't regret it.] 107 years may not be a conventional point for celebrations, but when the work is so lovely - and the subject so deserving of a wider audience - who cares?
