The thing that's always struck me about 2000 AD is the loyalty it inspires, not only among the readers, but also among its creators. When I was editor in the second half of the 1990s, artist Mark Harrison literally worked himself so hard he got taken to hospital. I sent him this letter, which Mark recently rediscovered and emailed back to me. Forgive the language, but I was making a point.
