There's a report on the Off The Telly blog from Wednesday's press screening for the new series of Lewis, the Inspector Morse spin-off starring Kevin Whately. It confirms that each of the three new episodes being broadcast on ITV 1 will make reference to the late, great Morse. I heard whispers that we can expect Lewis to start on Sunday February 18th, but there's no official confirmation of that date - yet.
At the screening Whately confirmed further episodes of Lewis are being filmed this year for broadcast early in 2008, great news for Morse enthusiasts and fans of Whately. It's no surprise ITV has already commissioned another helping of Lewis, since the pilot episode shown last January was the highest rated drama on British TV in 2006. That story should finally get a Region 2 DVD release in March, possibly accompanied by the three new episodes about to be broadcast.
