Second season of the sinister 'Dexter'

Excellent news in Variety yesterday - Showtime has ordered a second season of its quirky new crime drama series Dexter. The US subscription network has only broadcast five episodes of the first, 12-part season but the show is already Showtime's most popular drama. Dexter features a serial killing forensics expert who solves crimes and it's funny, dark and challenges so many of storytelling preconceptions about the nature of the protagonist - cracking stuff.
